What to look for at Maoshan Forest World

Wooded hills and outdoor recreation make this a physically different visit from Dao Tianxia’s streets. Choose activities according to your group’s mobility and tolerance for heights, rather than trying every advertised installation.

The actual 2026 municipal visitor report distinguishes a large lawn/camping focus, woodland recreation and animal-interaction themed areas. It names Qingqing Lawn and examples of outdoor activities, which is a useful basis for choosing the day: a relatively easy landscape/camping outing or a more active recreation plan. The existence of an animal-themed café or an advertised interaction is not a guarantee that a specific animal will be visible or available for handling.

Build a route that ends at the right place

Go directly to the named Forest World visitor center. Confirm which circuit and transport are operating, complete one main loop and return before fatigue makes the descent harder.

Use the named Forest World visitor location in Jintan’s Maoshan resort area, not a generic Maoshan temple or Dao Tianxia pin. On arrival, check which lower lawn and woodland route is open before committing to elevated or paid activities. A family with different mobility or height needs should choose the common walking area first and split optional activities only with a clear meeting point. Confirm the route back to the visitor center and the return to your hotel or city before extending onto a more distant trail.

Plan 4–6 hours plus transport for the stated visitor focus. This is an editorial allowance; queues and a separately described county-city journey need their own buffer.

Admission evidence and product boundaries

Entry, activity packages, rope or height-based attractions and lifts may have separate limits and charges; this is not a ticket to every Maoshan site.

The specific municipal report was read, including its 28 April–5 May 2026 lawn/camping promotion. That offer has expired and is not presented as free October camping. Current admission packages, equipment rentals, activity eligibility, animal programs, weather refunds and passport handling remain unknown. Ask separately about main entry, camping pitch/equipment, a ride or height-based activity and any guided experience. An advertised activity in a past festival does not establish its operation or inclusion on your chosen date.

A named alternative when the plan changes

If an adventure activity closes, use a confirmed lower Qingqing Lawn/woodland route only when weather and access permit; do not replace a closed installation with an unsupervised slope or cable route. Dao Tianxia is a different named town/entertainment option with independent admission and can also be affected by weather. If the whole Jintan outdoor day is unsuitable, move it and retain Changzhou Museum for an operating city session rather than chasing another remote mountain gate.
