Make this route your own

Use these days as a starting point and adjust the pace to suit you. Check the linked attraction guides for reservations and closures, and allow a full day for longer outings. Confirm weather and tickets before setting off.

Choose one route for each day with alternatives below. Only its listed stops are imported. Optional stops stay in the guide, and opening days still need checking for your dates.

Make room for local life

Choose which visits to shorten or replace. Check the experience’s address and conditions, and arrange meals, shows or workshops separately. The booking planner saves the listed attraction visits.

DAY1

Central and western city

Shu history and a literary garden

These are alternatives. The planner adds only the stops in your chosen option.

Places mentioned in this day's guide:

  1. Choose the full Wuhou Shrine and Du Fu Cottage cultural day, or select one morning-only visit to leave a separate afternoon for tea. Each venue keeps its own admission.
  2. Jinsha remains a historical catalogue record but is fully closed during the announced 2025–2027 upgrade. Do not travel to its gate as a current alternative.
  3. If ancient-Shu collections are the priority, check the actual program and independent booking at Chengdu Museum or Sichuan Museum before replacing a visit.
If the plan changes

Use a separately confirmed open cultural institution; the Jinsha construction end date is not a verified reopening date.

DAY2

North / east city

Pandas and industrial culture

These are alternatives. The planner adds only the stops in your chosen option.

Places mentioned in this day's guide:

  1. Protect the morning or chosen session for the correct panda-base entrance
  2. Add the creative district only if energy and the transfer fit
If the plan changes

Animal visibility is not guaranteed; do not switch panda institutions by mistake.

DAY3

One district

One town or a central slow day

These are alternatives. The planner adds only the stops in your chosen option.

Places mentioned in this day's guide:

  1. Choose one outer-town or cultural cluster, or the central Kuanzhai route to leave space for a separately arranged tea afternoon.
  2. Give its principal collection or historic interiors proper time
If the plan changes

The six outer-area choices are alternatives. A central slow day replaces the excursion; do not combine all the towns or add tea after a full distant outing.

DAY4

Dujiangyan

Dujiangyan

Planner route: Dujiangyan irrigation heritage.

Planner stops: Qingcheng Mountain and Dujiangyan Scenic Area.

Places mentioned in this day's guide:

  1. Give the irrigation heritage its own substantial day
  2. Confirm the exact river route and return transfer
If the plan changes

Follow high-water closures and keep a city alternative available.

DAY5

One mountain destination

Qingcheng or another mountain

These are alternatives. The planner adds only the stops in your chosen option.

Places mentioned in this day's guide:

  1. Choose one Qingcheng route for the day
  2. Tiantai or Xiling are separate alternatives, often better with an overnight
If the plan changes

Protect the descent and return; do not combine multiple mountains.

These are alternatives to consider, not extra stops to add to the same day. Check locations and transfer times before replacing an itinerary stop; a distant excursion may need a full day.
