Choose the waterfront, then the restaurant
Dalian’s provincial tourism briefing identifies seafood, harbor neighborhoods and 渔人码头, Fisherman’s Wharf, among the city’s visitor themes. This is a reason to make time for a meal, not a restaurant certification. Choose one area and an operating restaurant with clear terms. Fisherman’s Wharf, Donggang and the more distant island or fishing districts are separate destinations.
Agree on the unit before weighing
When food is sold by weight, ask whether the price is per 斤 (500 grams), kilogram or another listed unit. Point to the actual seafood and confirm its name, quantity and quoted weight before preparation. A low price next to a tank may apply to a different species, size or unit. Ask for the full calculation in writing if it is not obvious from the menu.
Choose the preparation separately

Ask for the species, unit, weight, preparation fee and total. Keep the order record until the bill is settled. After dinner, choose a short public waterfront section and confirm the return pickup point. If stock or prices do not suit you, select another clearly priced dish or restaurant before anything is prepared; avoid turning a simple meal into an unplanned coastal excursion.
