What makes the visit worthwhile

The city collection is important for understanding Luoyang’s successive capitals, but it cannot currently be treated as an available museum day.

A realistic route

The stated duration of about one year is an estimate, not a reopening date. Older pages describing timed reservations or passport validation therefore do not establish a visit that can take place now. Keep this guide as a record of the closure and an explanation of alternatives. The Ancient Tomb Museum offers burial architecture and art in the northern city; Erlitou offers early-capital archaeology in Yanshi. Each has its own current visitor process and cannot guarantee that objects or exhibitions formerly associated with the closed city museum are on view.

Booking and a foreign passport

When the plan changes

If no ticket is available, keep the return journey simple and use the alternative only after checking its own access. A weather closure, an unavailable gallery and a sold-out time slot require different changes; ask which part of the site is affected.
