Route and timing

Allow three to four hours. Walk the Sacred Way first, reading the sequence of stone animals and officials as an approach rather than isolated statues. Continue to the main ceremonial axis, gates and tomb precinct, then decide whether the remaining energy justifies another Zhongshan component.

The route involves substantial outdoor walking. Start early in hot weather, carry water and use only operating official transport if you choose to shorten a transfer. The five-day itinerary places Ming Xiaoling before the reserved Sun Yat-sen session, but the reservation time should control the order if necessary.

If the plan fails

If the ticket cannot be validated, ask staff to check the exact product and passport procedure; do not try another gate with an unrelated reservation. If time runs short, finish the principal Ming Xiaoling axis and remove optional sites. Storms and extreme heat are reasons to move the visit, not to push through exposed woodland.
