Choose the filling before the gift box
Save 嘉兴粽子, Jiaxing zongzi, and 月河, Yuehe. The commerce bureau identifies a zongzi culture museum within the historic neighborhood. Start with a ready-to-eat dumpling if tasting is your goal. Ask whether it is savory or sweet and confirm the actual filling rather than assuming a leaf wrapper tells you what is inside.
Know what you are buying
A cooked dumpling for immediate eating, a chilled product and a shelf-stable gift box need different handling. Ask which you have selected, how to open or heat it and how it must be stored. Check the weight and price per item before comparing gift packs. Confirm meat, egg, bean or other fillings if they affect your choice, and keep the product label when buying for later.
Use the museum for context
A cultural display can explain the relationship between ingredients, leaf wrapping and seasonal customs. Check the current visitor entrance and whether any demonstration is scheduled. Seeing staff wrap commercial products does not mean a visitor may join production. A museum ticket or ordinary food purchase does not create a cooking lesson unless the selected service explicitly includes one.
Check a wrapping lesson separately
The provincial foreign affairs office describes a 2026 international Dragon Boat Festival group visit to Wufangzhai’s industrial park. That was a real exchange event, not evidence of daily English classes for independent tourists. If you want to wrap zongzi, ask about individual eligibility, venue, teacher, ingredients, boiling time and whether you eat or collect the result later. Yuehe and the industrial park are different destinations.
Ask about the whole food experience
请问这个粽子是什么馅、多少克？现在可以直接吃吗？如果参加包粽体验，在哪里上课、多久煮好、能带走吗？
Ask about filling, weight, readiness and a class’s actual location. Keep a short Yuehe lane walk as part of the outing and check the return to your base. If no lesson is available, tasting one dumpling and visiting the confirmed display can still be complete. Do not spend the day traveling between separate factory and old-town addresses on the strength of a past festival article.
