Why it is worth your time
The Temple of the Six Banyan Trees, or Liurong Temple, is known for the Flower Pagoda and its continuing Buddhist life. It offers a compact counterpoint to Guangzhou’s large museums: architecture, worship and a historic religious setting in one stop.
Do not assume tourist rules
No current official visitor notice confirming opening hours, ticket price, reservations, overseas documents or pagoda access was found for this guide. Those details are unknown. In particular, seeing the Flower Pagoda does not mean visitors can enter or climb it.
Follow current temple signs and staff. Dress and behave respectfully, keep voices low, do not photograph worshippers without permission and yield space during ceremonies. On-site restrictions should override any generic tourism itinerary.
Route and timing
When access is confirmed, allow 45–75 minutes for the temple grounds and pagoda exterior, without promising an ascent. Combine it with Beijing Road and other old-city streets rather than scheduling several unverified religious interiors back to back.
The Temple’s address is 87 Liurong Road, Yuexiu, but a street address is not proof that all areas are public. Enter only through the currently designated visitor entrance.
If the plan fails
If the temple is closed or a ceremony limits access, continue to Beijing Road’s public streets or visit the Nanyue King Palace site with its own reservation. If staff cannot confirm tourist admission, accept that outcome. There is no verified alternative entrance or guaranteed same-day booking channel to recommend.
Offline fallback card
- Closed or holding a ceremony: continue to Beijing Road’s public district and do not treat the pagoda’s exterior visibility as entry permission.
- Ticketing unclear: ask temple staff and accept current on-site rules rather than relying on third-party schedules.
- Rain or heat: shorten the temple stop and move to a separately reserved museum.
