Before you book

Check the venue's latest notice for your visit date, including opening hours, available tickets and any document requirements. Use the official links below to confirm and book.

Why it is worth your time

SWCAC gives Shekou a serious design-and-culture focus beyond its dining reputation. The waterfront architecture and changing exhibitions work together: you can understand contemporary design inside, then see how the district meets the coast outside.

Sea World’s public spaces, restaurants and Minghua-ship setting are separate from SWCAC’s galleries. Check the official exhibition page for each show’s dates, ticket, registration and last-entry rules. A free public waterfront does not make every exhibition free, and a ticket to one exhibition or performance should not be assumed to cover others.

Current dynamic pricing and release windows vary by programme and are not generalised here. Carry the credential required by your chosen event; no universal passport rule is asserted for the outdoor district.

Route and timing

Allow two to three hours for one major exhibition and a short waterfront walk. Begin indoors while your booked entry or gallery hours are secure, then exit toward the Sea World public spaces and coast. Add a second exhibition only if its ticket and your energy allow.

Shekou pairs naturally with Nantou on a Nanshan day, but the transfer and walking add up. Keep dinner flexible rather than scheduling another timed venue afterward.

If the plan fails

If the gallery is closed or the exhibition unavailable, the public waterfront remains a valid fallback only in safe weather and open areas. Do not use a restaurant reservation as gallery entry. In heavy rain or a typhoon, postpone the coastal section and use another confirmed indoor venue; if only one show is sold out, check other official listings rather than buying an unofficial ticket.

Offline fallback card

  • Gallery closed or exhibition sold out: use the Sea World public waterfront and Minghua-ship exterior without treating them as gallery admission.
  • Heavy rain or storms: remain only in confirmed open indoor areas, or postpone the waterfront and switch to a checked museum.
