What to look for at Nanhu Park

Lake paths, bridges and planting make Nanhu an easy urban landscape day. A selected loop works better than trying to cover every edge in midday heat.

Choose between two manageable focuses: the Famous Trees Garden (Mingshu Bolanyuan) for planted landscape, or a short lake-view route by the Nine-Arch Bridge. A July 2026 post by the municipal tourism bureau names both, as well as a north-gate pavilion viewpoint and the lake access by Nanhu Metro station, Exit B1. These are useful distinct starting points around a long lake. A bridge photograph does not require walking the entire shore, and the trees garden is a visitor focus within Nanhu rather than another distant attraction.

Build a route that ends at the right place

Choose a short water-and-garden circuit, plan a shaded break and identify your return point before walking farther.

For a first quiet visit, select the trees garden, read the plant labels and use one permitted lakeside continuation before returning to the same entrance. The park’s recent landscape report identifies shaded planting under banyans, Rongyin Road, Wuqiao Bridge/Qinglian Bay and changing flower beds; choose what is actually signed and open rather than expecting every seasonal photograph to match. For a shorter transit-based visit, use the confirmed B1 lake access and keep a clearly defined return. The trees garden and the northern lakeside photograph are choices, not an implied adjacent loop.

Plan 2–3 hours for the stated visitor focus. This is an editorial allowance; queues and a separately described county-city journey need their own buffer.

Admission evidence and product boundaries

Public paths, enclosed displays, boats, rentals and special events may differ.

The actual municipal tourism-bureau post, park landscape report and provincial urban-park planning document were checked. The planning text also names the Li Mingrui and Wei Baqun revolutionary martyrs memorial; it does not establish that museum’s current indoor session. July/August flower reports do not promise October blooms, and social-post photography suggestions are not park opening hours. Current boat/paddleboard operation, rental terms, enclosed exhibition admission and passport registration remain unknown. Ask about the particular activity or memorial interior rather than an unspecified all-park ticket.

A named alternative when the plan changes

If water activities stop, retain the open land route without substituting an unofficial boat. If the trees garden or a flower bed is temporarily restricted, a safe short Nine-Arch Bridge/lake-view section may still work after access is confirmed. In severe heat or storms, move the outdoor session and use Guangxi Museum or Nanning Museum on their own verified admission day; neither is an immediate shelter on the far side of the lake. Keep the return pickup at a named gate because the shoreline has many access points.
