Stay near the city-center sights if most of your trip is urban; choose an overnight nearer an outlying excursion when that removes repeated long transfers. A municipality name can cover several county cities, hills and coastlines, so the five-day plan offers choices by geography rather than a compulsory checklist.
Visit Guangxi Museum with confirmed admission, then a short Three Streets/Two Lanes walk and permitted Yong River section if weather allows.
Choose Qingxiu Mountain as the main day or the Nationalities Museum and Confucian Temple as a separate cultural route. Do not rush all three large areas. From 26 October 2026 the Nationalities Museum plans to close specified second-floor Zhuang culture, bronze-drum, Huashan landscape and D1/D2 halls through planned end-December; its other named galleries continue, with exact reopening separately announced.
Give Nanning Museum its own session and select Nanhu or People’s Park as a modest outdoor addition. Allow the actual cross-city transfer.
Choose Yiling Cave or Daming Mountain with confirmed operations and return transport. These are separate substantial excursions, not one default day.
Select Kunlun Pass history, Yangmei town, Longmen Water Town or Garden Expo Park. Each requires a separate geographic plan; retain this day as a weather or reservation buffer.
Open the individual visit guides to check which venue or area your ticket covers. Confirm current opening hours, prices, reservations and the passport process through the venue’s official channel before you go. Bring the original passport used for booking and save your confirmation offline. If the form only accepts a mainland ID, ask the venue how overseas visitors should book. Check eligibility before relying on a discount or walk-up ticket, and confirm whether a tour or guided activity includes admission.
Autumn through early spring is often more comfortable for walking; heat and heavy rain affect outdoor days. Keep an indoor collection day movable, but independently confirm that museum’s session and admission. When a boat, lift, ridge or waterfront closes, follow the official shortened route or change the day; do not replace it with an unofficial operator.
