Quarry caverns and stone-cut spaces offer a distinctive human-made underground landscape. The attraction comprises several sections whose names and entries matter.
A specific route
Changyu Dongtian is a former stone-quarry landscape rather than a natural limestone-cave system. The operator describes interconnected excavations left by generations of slab extraction and distinguishes sectors such as Shuangmen, Guanxi and Shuiyun. Choose an operating sector before entering; the broad tourism-area name does not mean every cave, animal facility and night product is available or included in one order.
Choose the cave/quarry sections your ticket actually covers, allow time for steps and do not assume every advertised chamber is operating.
Entry and component boundaries
Shuangmen provides a concrete stone-culture route. Its operator description begins with the abstracted stone gateway, then identifies the Stone Garden, Panlong Pool and a maze assembled from collected stone windows. Look for the difference between a quarry wall shaped by extraction and a reused architectural element shaped for a house. The stone-window patterns also show how ventilation and decoration could share one opening. Allow around two hours for this selected route, adding another cave only when its entrance, product and return path are clear.
Individual cavern groups, combination tickets, transport and special performances can differ.
If access or weather changes
The latest reopening notice on the operator site is explicit: from noon 29 August 2026 the scenic area resumed operation except Guanxi Cave. Guanxi and the Fantasy Night Tour remained closed for equipment maintenance, with reopening to be announced separately. No later verified reopening was retrieved, so neither belongs in the recommended active route. The earlier typhoon-wide closure should likewise not be carried forward as a closure of every sector after that reopening. If the operating portion no longer fits the visit, choose another named Wenling landscape only after checking weather and current access; Shitang is a separate coastal trip, not a cave-ticket replacement.
Allow 4–5 hours plus transfer for the stated focus; the route is an editorial planning estimate, with separate district/county transfers outside that allowance.
