Stay near the city-center sights if most of your trip is urban; choose an overnight nearer an outlying excursion when that removes repeated long transfers. A municipality name can cover several county cities, hills and coastlines, so the five-day plan offers choices by geography rather than a compulsory checklist.
Walk a manageable city-wall section, Ziyang Street and East Lake with independent entry checks. Stay in Linhai if continuing inland.
Visit Guoqing Temple; add Shiliang only if mountain transport and current opening fit. An overnight makes the county itinerary more relaxed.
Choose the waterfall/valley circuit as a full day, or travel to Xianju for a separate Shenxianju mountain day. Do not combine these distant mountain routes. Shenxianju’s 22 October 2026 notice suspends via ferrata, forest climbing, Guabang Cloud Ladder and Nantian Ding glass platform from 23 October; this is a four-experience restriction, not a whole-scenic-area closure.
Choose Gaoqian/Pantan and a short Yong’an River section, or a separate Wenling day for Changyu quarry caverns or Shitang coast. Select one geographic direction. Changyu’s 29 August 2026 reopening notice excludes Guanxi Cave and Fantasy Night Tour, which remain closed for equipment work until a separate reopening announcement; choose only confirmed operating cavern sections.
Visit Taizhou Museum in Jiaojiang or choose Huangyan Museum with Jiufeng Park. Allow the real cross-district transfer if combining museums.
Open the individual visit guides to check which venue or area your ticket covers. Confirm current opening hours, prices, reservations and the passport process through the venue’s official channel before you go. Bring the original passport used for booking and save your confirmation offline. If the form only accepts a mainland ID, ask the venue how overseas visitors should book. Check eligibility before relying on a discount or walk-up ticket, and confirm whether a tour or guided activity includes admission.
Spring and autumn; typhoons, mountain fog and rough seas can change routes. Keep an indoor collection day movable, but independently confirm that museum’s session and admission. When a boat, lift, ridge or waterfront closes, follow the official shortened route or change the day; do not replace it with an unofficial operator.
