The visitor focus

Riverside paths offer an easier landscape day than Shenxianju. A selected section is more practical than trying to complete a long greenway end to end.

A specific route

The Yong’an River greenway is a branching network, not a single short path running between all of Xianju’s attractions. Official finance and sports accounts describe it as a countywide structure connecting river scenery, villages and destinations such as Gaoqian and Shenxianju. Begin by selecting one current section with a recognizable access point and return anchor. A bridge name, village entrance or agreed pickup is more useful to a first-time walker than the impressive total length of the whole network.

Confirm the open access point and a return pickup, then use an out-and-back or short signed loop. Keep rafting as a separate optional product.

Entry and component boundaries

A short out-and-back route allows attention to the changing relationship between river channel, floodplain trees and village edge. On a cycle ride, stop off the main flow to read the landscape rather than treating the path as a racing course. The official construction and event accounts establish the network’s purpose, but not that every segment is passable after current rain or works. Keep the return on a confirmed route; do not depend on an unsigned crossing merely because another bank appears close.

Public paths, rental bicycles, rafting, organized activities and ecological zones may differ.

If access or weather changes

Allow roughly ninety minutes for a modest walk or ride and additional time for any connected village. Rafting, bicycle hire, adventure products and heritage interiors are separate services, and a greenway label is not an entitlement to them. Published network lengths differ by scope and construction date, so none is used here as a visitor-loop promise. If water levels or a local closure make the selected stretch unsuitable, Gaoqian’s architectural subject or Potan’s trading-street history offers a named Xianju alternative, each requiring its own access and a separate journey from the chosen greenway point.

Allow 2–3 hours for the stated focus; the route is an editorial planning estimate, with separate district/county transfers outside that allowance.
