What to look for at Dalong Lake

An open urban lake landscape gives an easier outdoor option in the newer city area. It is most useful as a selected shore walk, not a destination to circle completely.

Dalong Lake is in the southeastern Yunlong/new-city area, not Yunlong Lake and not the similarly named Jinlong Lake in the eastern development zone. The district public-service page places Dalonghu Subdistrict in southeast Yunlong, while official visitor reports identify a north-shore dragon-boat setting and other seasonal lake-side events. Use those names for orientation, but do not expect a boat race or festival on an ordinary October day.

Build a route that ends at the right place

Choose a clear start and end point, follow permitted shore paths and keep a return transport buffer.

Choose one clear public shore access and a manageable out-and-back rather than attempting the full water perimeter. Record the return pickup in Chinese as 大龙湖, including the specific entrance or nearby road, so the driver does not take the group to 云龙湖 or 金龙湖. If a cultural event is your reason to visit, locate the actual dated event area before arranging a fixed transfer. Keep the old-city museum/Hubu Hill route separate in time; a district name covering both does not make every place a short walk apart.

Plan 2–3 hours for the stated visitor focus. This is an editorial allowance; queues and a separately described county-city journey need their own buffer.

Admission evidence and product boundaries

Public paths, cruises, rentals, events and private waterfront venues have separate conditions.

The actual district geographic page and dated 2025/2026 official event reports were checked. The district office’s working hours are not lake opening hours, and a dragon-boat announcement does not establish a general visitor cruise. Current controlled-area access, rentals, boat operation, event charges and passport procedures remain unknown here. Ask for the specific shore or activity, and do not buy a similarly named lake product on the assumption that all three Xuzhou lake destinations share an operator or ticket.

A named alternative when the plan changes

If one bank is controlled for an event or maintenance, use only a signed public alternative and keep the same confirmed return point. Yunlong Lake is a different named landscape choice with its own transfer, while Xuzhou Museum provides an indoor collection day after entry is confirmed. East Zhushan Quarry Park belongs to the eastern development-zone/Jinlong Lake direction, not an immediate extension of Dalong Lake. In severe weather, move the exposed shore visit rather than searching for an unverified boat or waterside shelter.
