What to look for at East Zhushan Quarry Site Park

Former quarry forms and ecological repair in eastern Xuzhou show another layer of the city’s terrain. The visit is a public landscape route with conservation and safety boundaries.

The site is East Zhushan in the economic-development-zone/Jinlong Lake direction, not the similarly named Zhushan scenic landscape by Yunlong Lake. The Ministry of Ecology and Environment presents it as a case of turning a disused quarry into a public landscape while retaining rock and industrial-landform character. The important question is how extraction scars, restored planting and public circulation fit together, rather than expecting an underground archaeological museum or a single famous historic building.

Build a route that ends at the right place

Use the signed main paths, inspect quarry faces from designated viewing areas and keep any lake extension modest.

Use the Chinese name 东珠山宕口公园/珠山宕口遗址公园 with the eastern development-zone locality when arranging transport. On arrival, choose the current signed lower route and examine the quarry face from designated public viewpoints. Extend toward another permitted landscape section only when the return path and pickup are clear. Jinlong Lake can be a separate same-direction landscape choice if its public access is confirmed, but Yunlong Lake and Dalong Lake are different destinations and should not be substituted because their English names look similar.

Plan 2–3 hours for the stated visitor focus. This is an editorial allowance; queues and a separately described county-city journey need their own buffer.

Admission evidence and product boundaries

Public paths, controlled quarry areas, exhibitions and activity products may differ.

The actual national environmental-repair case and the local public-service district description were checked. They establish ecological restoration and eastern locality, not present cliff-edge access, a complete trail map, ticket charges, lighting, reservation or passport requirements. Those fields remain unknown. Ask which paths and viewing points are open and whether any activity is separately operated. A repaired quarry included in an urban-ecology case does not give visitors permission to enter rock openings, fenced slopes or remaining works areas.

A named alternative when the plan changes

If a path closes, turn back at the barrier and keep the confirmed lower route rather than climbing around the quarry face. A separately confirmed Jinlong Lake public-bank visit is a named same-direction outdoor alternative; it remains unsuitable as storm shelter. For an indoor collection day, move the quarry and use Xuzhou Museum or Han Stone Relief Art Museum with independent admission. Do not place this eastern park as a casual final walking segment after a Yunlong Hill route on the other side of the city.
