How to plan Xuzhou

Han tombs and sculpture, Yunlong landscapes and the history of the Huaihai Campaign. Stay near the city-center sights if most of your trip is urban; choose an overnight nearer an outlying excursion when that removes repeated long transfers. A municipality name can cover several county cities, hills and coastlines, so the five-day plan offers choices by geography rather than a compulsory checklist.

Five days with realistic transfers

Day 1: Museum and city landscape

Prioritize Xuzhou Museum, then choose a modest hill section or a lake-shore walk. Both outdoor routes are optional around the actual museum session.

Day 2: Han royal archaeology

Give the Han Culture Scenic Area a substantial day with confirmed tomb and terracotta-figure components. Preserve time to read the archaeology.

Day 3: Guishan tomb or relief collections

Give Guishan Han Tomb a dedicated return buffer. The Han Stone Relief Art Museum is a separate Yunlong-side collection alternative with north/south venues and independent admission, not a nearby Guishan interior.

Day 4: Memorial and old-city houses

See the Huaihai Campaign exhibition, then choose Hubu Hill houses and a short Huilongwo route. Xima Terrace is a nearby optional stop, not a reason to rush all interiors.

Day 5: Choose nature or family recreation

Choose Pan’an Lake as an outlying wetland day or Amusement Land as a full family day. Pengzu Garden, Dalong Lake and Zhushan quarry paths are separate lighter urban alternatives.

Admission and foreign-passport preparation

Open the individual visit guides to check which venue or area your ticket covers. Confirm current opening hours, prices, reservations and the passport process through the venue’s official channel before you go. Bring the original passport used for booking and save your confirmation offline. If the form only accepts a mainland ID, ask the venue how overseas visitors should book. Check eligibility before relying on a discount or walk-up ticket, and confirm whether a tour or guided activity includes admission.

Weather, closures and alternatives

Spring and autumn; summer hills are exposed and winter paths can freeze. Keep an indoor collection day movable, but independently confirm that museum’s session and admission. When a boat, lift, ridge or waterfront closes, follow the official shortened route or change the day; do not replace it with an unofficial operator.
