Stay near the city-center sights if most of your trip is urban; choose an overnight nearer an outlying excursion when that removes repeated long transfers. A municipality name can cover several county cities, hills and coastlines, so the five-day plan offers choices by geography rather than a compulsory checklist.
Visit selected Three Lanes houses and Lin Zexu Memorial. Hualin Temple is an optional separate north-side stop if its session fits.
Give Fujian Museum a real session, walk West Lake and choose at most one short Yushan or Wushan route in suitable weather.
Walk Shangxiahang and then transfer across the river to a selected Yantai Hill route. Keep the hill climb modest and each interior independent.
Use Gushan with Yongquan Temple as the main outdoor day. Guling and the Forest Park are distinct alternatives, with separate transport and weather decisions.

The historic timber hall makes this a focused architectural visit. A slow look at structure and available interpretation is more useful than expecting a large active-temple complex.
林则徐纪念馆

Museums, historic shipbuilding remains and commemorative sites explain Fuzhou's modern maritime history. Components are spread across Mawei rather than contained behind one gate.
闽越水镇
Minhou County · culture
A developed water-town setting with architecture and staged experiences makes this an entertainment-oriented excursion outside central Fuzhou. Choose it for atmosphere and current programs.

Taijiang District · history · museum
Merchant streets, waterways and association buildings reveal Fuzhou's commercial history. Reused restaurants and galleries sit within a heritage neighborhood rather than a single museum campus.
三坊七巷历史文化街区
Gulou District · culture
Courtyard houses and narrow lane networks make this Fuzhou's clearest introduction to its historic domestic architecture. The best visit chooses a few interiors rather than only the busy Nanhou Street frontage.
